FAQ 🤍

  • How long does it take for you to ship? Most of my items are made to order, which means it usually takes up to 2 weeks for production and shipping. The specific timeframe may vary depending on factors such as my availability to create the product, the availability of materials at the time of ordering, and the shipping schedule. However, I make every effort to complete and ship out the product within a week.

  • What's your refund + return policy? I offer partial or full refunds, depending on whether an item is defective or if there was an error on my end. Please note that I only accept returns for defective items, so it is important to carefully review the size measurements before making a purchase. Returns will not be accepted for items received after 2 weeks. In addition to refunds, I also offer the option to replace defective items, and I will cover the return costs, making it free for you. My goal is to ensure that my products are of the highest quality, so I hope that my customers have a seamless experience without any issues. Feel free to contact me via Instagram @melrroseapparel, email [email protected], or through the contact page if you are unhappy with your order!

  • Can I cancel or change my order? If you need to cancel or change your order or address, please contact me as soon as possible through email [email protected], contact page, or by sending me a direct message on Instagram @melrroseapparel. Please note that once I have already shipped your item, there is limited action I can take to cancel or modify it.

  • Where do you ship to? I offer shipping to the United States at a flat rate of $5.00 USD. For international orders, there is a shipping fee of $15 USD. Please note that international orders may take approximately 1-4 weeks to arrive at their destination.

  • How is melrroseapparel eco-friendly and ethical? I make every effort to source fabric and collaborate with companies that prioritize environmental friendliness and ethical practices. I also prioritize reusing packaging materials and utilize eco-friendly packaging that can be recycled and reused. The logo stickers I use are printed on PVC-free vinyl film, which is non-toxic to the environment and recyclable. I purchase all my materials from other small businesses and recycle and repurpose any usable leftover materials. While not all of my products are currently made from sustainable fabric, I am constantly striving to enhance my sustainability practices and continuously educate myself on improvements. For more information on sustainability, please refer to the sustainability mission page on my website.

  • How do you price your items? As a one-person business, I establish my prices based on various factors, including the cost of materials required for each product, the time invested in handmade craftsmanship, and the expenses associated with maintaining my business operations. For certain items, I utilize eco-friendly, deadstock, or limited materials, which can be more costly. Furthermore, each of my pieces are unique and one-of-a-kind. While I strive to create each piece to the best of my ability, it's important to note that as handmade items, they may possess minor imperfections that are not readily apparent when worn. Please understand that due to the individual nature of each piece, they will differ in appearance and no two items will be exactly alike.

  • Do you do collaborations? As a one-person business, the process of handmaking my items requires a significant investment of time, money, and materials. Consequently, I do not engage in collaborations frequently, but I am open to them! On occasion, I proactively reach out to individuals whom I believe align well with my clothing and brand. If you are interested in collaborating with melrroseapparel, feel free to send me a direct message via Instagram @melrroseapparel, through the contact page, or email me at [email protected]!

  • Will sold-out items ever come back? At Melrroseapparel, my primary focus is on sustainability and the principles of slow fashion. Consequently, I intentionally avoid creating numerous styles that are identical. I work with one-of-a-kind and limited fabrics, which means that once a particular style is sold out, it indicates that the fabric used is no longer available or produced. Finding similar fabrics to restock my items can be challenging. However, I strive to meet the demand for popular sold-out styles by searching for the same or similar fabrics to incorporate into my designs. My goal is to offer unique pieces that are crafted from durable fabric, ensuring they can be worn repeatedly. Although restocking older designs may pose challenges, I will do my utmost to fulfill customer preferences and provide a diverse range of options.

  • What sizes do you offer? Currently, my products are available in sizes XS to L, depending on the specific pieces. Most of the fabric I work with has a high degree of stretch, allowing it to accommodate other sizes as well. However, I would like to note that I aim to expand my size range in the future as I gain more knowledge and experience with larger sizes. Currently, I base the sizing of my clothing on my body measurements and those of my friends. As I have limited experience with other sizes, I want to ensure that I provide accurate and well-fitting options when I expand. I intend to refine my skills and eventually offer a broader range of sizes. All my pieces are designed to be true to size, with the added flexibility of stretch depending on the fabric used. Please refer to the size chart or the bottom of the website.

  • How do I care for my garment?

To ensure long-lasting durability and minimize your carbon footprint, here are the recommended methods for garment maintenance:

    1. Hand wash the garment with cold water and air-dry it flat. This is the optimal approach for preserving the quality of the fabric.

    2. Alternatively, you can turn the piece inside out and machine wash it on a cold setting. For drying, choose a low tumble-dry setting or air-dry the garment flat.

By following these care instructions, you can help extend the lifespan of your garment while reducing its environmental impact.

  • Do you have any patterns or tutorials? No, I don't offer tutorials at the moment. I create my patterns using my body measurements and existing clothing as references. However, I highly recommend exploring the wealth of helpful videos available on platforms like TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube to learn more about garment-making. There are numerous great resources available that can provide valuable guidance and inspiration.
